Manny Pacquiao Still The Biggest Bet at Sportsbook.com

Remarkably, boxer Manny Pacquiao is still the top bet at Sportsbook.com.  More action has been taken on Pacquiao then any other single bet offered this week including on Tiger Woods to win the 2010 Masters.

This is despite the fact that Pacquiao is not slated to actually fight anybody.  The odds are being offered on Pacquiao vs. Floyd Mayweather, Jr. and that fight is yet to be confirmed.  Bets are "action" only if the two fighters meet before December 31, 2010.

The sparring match outside the ring continues and has been ongoing ever since Pacquiao refused to submit to Mayweather's Olympics style drug testing.

"Floyd's scared of my guy," said Pacquiao's trainer Freddie Roach. "I let him use my gym when he was doing ‘Dancing With The Stars' before the Ricky Hatton fight and I've known him since he was a little kid. He's not a bad guy. But the only way the fight with Manny is going to happen is we go by the commission drug-testing rules."

He also expressed doubt that a Pacquiao - Mayweather fight would ever see the time of day.

Olympic-Style Drug Test for Pacquiao Versus Mayweather Fight

The latest development in the world of boxing is about a fight between two superstars in the sport – Floyd Mayweather, Jr. and Philippine boxing superstar Manny Pacquiao. Pacquiao is currently the man of the hour in the field of boxing, having only recently TKO’d another renowned boxer out of his title – Puerto Rican Miguel Cotto.

There are a lot of things going on regarding the undoubtedly anticipated fight, the proposed date of which is being set for March 13 of next year. Amid a tug-of-war regarding the venue is a rather hot topic: hints of use of performance-enhancing drugs by Pacquiao from the Mayweather camp. Mayweather’s father, Mayweather Sr., spoke of his suspicions in an interview that has made the YouTube circuit from a couple of months or so ago – although he also took those allegations back.

The demand for a random, Olympic-style drug testing prior to their proposed match next year was made by representatives of Floyd Mayweather Jr. This should certainly be interesting. Pacquiao, with his diminutive stature and humble beginnings, has become a hero of sorts in his home country, and has served as inspiration to a lot of people. He is not devoid of imperfections, but as far as boxing goes – he has done fairly well for himself. But the elder Mayweather simply seems to smell something fishy going on with Pacquiao’s chameleon-like ability to move through seven weight classes.

Pacquiao has never failed a drug test in the past, but the Mayweather camp thinks that is only because the testing isn’t as stringent as it should be.
